This evidence gap emphasizes the need for more targeted studies to improve pandemic preparedness in these facilities.
Key Findings:
Missing Data on Air Filtration Systems: Despite air filtration’s potential to reduce airborne infections, no robust studies were found on its effectiveness in LTCFs.
Unexplored Visitor Restrictions: Limited evidence exists on how visitor restrictions or controlled entry impacts virus transmission in care settings.
Impact on Mental Health: Although NPIs are crucial, their potential adverse effects, like isolation and anxiety among residents, lack thorough investigation.
